Dr. Xhindi has actively participated in the public sphere in Albania through lecturing, research and publications in the academic sphere as well as project development in various social areas. She holds a PhD Degree in Human Geography from the University of Tirana and has successfully completed a second PhD Degree in Regional Development and Planning at the University of Potsdam, Germany.
Dr. Xhindi was awarded a Fulbright/Humphrey scholarship to pursue her postgraduate studies at the State University of Pennsylvania in the United States in the programme: Education Policy and Comparative Studies.
Dr. Xhindi has been working as a lecturer for more than 28 years in many Universities in Albania; currently she holds senior classes at the Mediterranean University of Albania.
During 2007-2009 she has been working as the Country Donor Coordinator at the Department for Strategy and Donor Coordination, Council of Ministers Albania. In November 2013 she has been appointed the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana.
From September 2015 to October 2016 she held the position of the Rector at Luarasi University in Albania.
Dr. Xhindi has been awarded, in 2012, by the European Commission the Jean Monnet Chair at the European University of Tirana for the first time in Albania.
Currently she is a member of two running actions at the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and grant coordinator for an Erasmus + CBHE (www. usia.al)
Her areas of expertise: public policy; regional development; leadership, social disparities and knowledge-based society; European Union integration and accession processes.
