Almost 200 experts and participants from 20 European and international countries, from the higher education, business, government and civil sectors attended the opening of the first international conference on modern management in financial business – CFMC|2022 Contemporary Financial Management Conference, in the rector’s building, on 7th of December 2022, organized by the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics.
The guests were greeted in front of the University by the vice-rector for finance, Dr Zorica Vujić, as well as Dr Slađana Benković, full professor and head of the Department of Financial Management and Accounting of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and president of the Program Committee of the CFMC|2022 conference.
“This conference provides a unique platform for the exchange of experiences to stakeholders and financial experts from all over Europe, as well as mutual networking and the renewal of relationships temporarily interrupted due to various crises that occurred in previous years,” said Dr Slađana Benković and added that she hopes that CFMC|2022 will influence on the popularization of financial topics, both in the professional and in the general public and in the daily life of the citizens of Serbia.
Vladimir Đukanović, a financial consultant and investor who became famous during his years of work on Wall Street, shared this attitude and thinking towards the representation of topics from the field of financial business.
“We are living in a time of great changes on all possible levels, especially in the field of economy and finance, which have been going through significant crises in the last few years. And the best time for change is always in times of crisis. I talked about this a few days ago with the students of the University of Belgrade, at a lecture dedicated to modern finance. I was very positively surprised by how hungry today’s young people are for knowledge about finances, global movements on the stock market, new trends…” concluded Vladimir Đukanović.
The CFMC|2022 conference is also important because part of the funds for its organization, collected from sponsors and patrons, will be directed towards scholarships for students who are unable to finance their education on their own.
Milan Martin Cvikl, vice-governor of the Bank of Slovenia, Giuseppe Grossi, vice-Chair of the CIGAR Network and research Professor in Accounting at Nord University, Norway and Jove Tapiador, trustee and former president of the Fintech Philippines association, spoke at the official opening of the Conference, and the choir of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, called Polifon, also performed.
